Natural Face Peelings

Important! Always consult your doctor before trying these or any home remedies. "Natural" does not mean it is safe for everybody.

What is a peeling or peel?

It is a beauty treatment that seeks to remove the top layers of dead skin cells. By removing the dead skin, a peeling promotes growth of new skin and fades away wrinkles. If you suffer from lupus or have broken capillaries, do not get a peeling done.
To get a peeling done at home wash your face with a cleansing cream with no oil. Then, apply the natural peel (recipes below) using the tips of your fingers all over your face. Be careful not to get it into your eyes or mouth. It is normal for the peeling to sting a little. But if it stings a lot, rinse immediately.

Homemade Peelings

Fruit Peeling
This peel is very easy to do since it only requires a small apple and two or three strawberries. Mash well and apply. Rinse after 5 minutes.
Lemon Peeling
This peel is a bit strong. It is especially recommended to reduce deep wrinkles. Mix equal parts lemon juice and distilled water and apply. Leave it on for five minutes and rinse. After removing the peeling you may apply a moisturizer that contains no petroleum jelly. This peel can be repeated three times a week. After two weeks of using it, you may increase the ingredients to two parts of lemon juice for one of distilled water. You will see results in about three months.
Botanical Peeling
For this herbal peel you will need 1/4 cup hot water and a teaspoon of each of these dried herbs: parsley, chamomile and wild rose (rose hip, rosehip). Place herbs in hot water and let them steep for 15 minutes. Before applying make sure that it is not hot.
